The 3-Day's finish line and closing ceremonies were held this year at UMass Boston,
right on the waterfront. The Cup Crusaders assembled a short distance before the
finish line so that we could cross the finish as a team. After crossing the finish line, all
of the walkers gather in a large holding area to wait for closing ceremonies. Closing
ceremonies cannot begin until the last walker crosses the finish line, so the holding
area offers most of the ammenities of any of the other pit stops along the route -
food, water or gatorade, porta-potties, medical services, and places to rest in the
shade. In addition, there was a 3-Day store set up for friends and family to purchase
3-Day gear, and the most important part, the t-shirt tent, where walkers and crew
were given their celebration shirts that they received for completing the walk.

Thousands of people come to watch and participate in closing ceremonies. It's a
wonderful, uplifting celebration of the walkers, crew, and survivors, and a reminder of
why we walked in the first place.
